TBT 2024 #3 - Blooming Hills

Blooming Hills is a tournament that will take place on Saturday August 10th in Toplice Sveti Martin as the final 3rd round of the Triple Bogey Tour 2024. The competition will consist of three rounds of 13 holes.

This year's tournament will be the fourth edition of Blooming Hills, which was first played in 2021 during the Covid19 pandemic with the participation of 21 competitors from Croatia, the second time as part of the Triple Bogey Tour in 2022 with the participation of 60 competitors from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, and Slovenia, and the third time as part of the Triple Bogey Tour in 2023 with the participation of 36 players from Croatia, Slovenia, and Austria.

All three rounds of the Triple Bogey Tour 2024 are played in PDGA color categories open to both genders: Purple (rating up to 800), Green (rating up to 850), Red (rating up to 900), and the Gold category (for all other players).
For more information about the tour and scoring for the overall standings, visit the Triple Bogey Tour page. The current standings table can also be downloaded in PDF format from this page. A player who was eligible to participate in a specific category (e.g., someone with a rating of 846 sufficient for Green) in the first round of the tour can participate in the same category for all three tour rounds, even if their rating exceeds the category limit in the meantime.
Additionally, each player can play in a higher-rated category if they choose to do so (e.g., someone with a rating of 730 can play in Purple, but also in any other category, while a player with a rating of, for example, 870, cannot play in Purple or Green).
Players who are not PDGA members and do not have a rating can only play in the Purple category if they have not played PDGA tournaments before, or if they have played PDGA tournaments and the last 6 played rounds have an average rating of no more than 800 points. If their rounds are worth more than 800 points, they can play in the Green, Red, or MPO/FPO category. A player who has no rating, but whose last 6 rounds are worth more than 850 rating points, cannot play in the Green category but can play in the Red or MPO/FPO category.

Tournament schedule will be available later.

Game
The competition will take place in the following format:
Round 1 - groups will be formed with mixed categories and strength groups determined by PDGA rating. We will try to avoid putting players from the same clubs/countries in the same groups in the first round, so that they can socialize with players they do not regularly see through the game.
Round 2 and Round 3 - groups formed by result, without mixing categories.

Course
The course where the tournament is played is located in the area of Sveti Martin Spa golf course and surrounding forests and meadows. The course setup for this tournament will be slightly modified compared to previous tournaments, and some holes will be shortened to give lower-rated players a chance for birdies, etc.
The baskets used will be Lagoda baskets on the permanent part of the course, and additionally Disc golf park baskets on several holes.
Tee pads will be prepared with artificial grass carpet.
A course map in PDF format will be available later.

Weather
You can follow the weather forecast for Sveti Martin Spa on the Yr.no website. In case of bad weather, you can also check the lightning radar or radar display of precipitation. Since part of the course is located in an old forest, in case of forecasted strong winds (stronger than 10 m/s), the competition may be postponed (or moved to another location) for the safety of the competitors.

Accommodation
Within the Terme Sveti Martin resort, there is the Terme 4* hotel and 3* apartments, and we will announce accommodation prices later.

Food
Tournament participants will be offered the option to pre-order lunch on Saturday. The exact list of meals and prices will be available later.

Restrooms
Restrooms are available in the Golf house. Additionally, the hotel restroom can be used (side entrance from the forest).

All photos taken at the tournament will be added to a Google Photos Album at the end of each day, and you can download and use them for social media. When posting on Instagram, please use #triplebogeytour #bloominghills #discgolfsvetimartin #toplicesvetimartin @lagoda_disc_golf @visitmedimurje

Ace Pool
All players who wish to can pay €1 in cash, which goes into a special box. From previous Lagoda tournaments, €120 is already in the Ace Pool box. A player who hits an ace during the tournament becomes the winner of the entire Ace Pool prize fund. If two or more players hit an ace at the same tournament, they share the ace pool. If no player hits an ace, the ace pool is carried over to the next Lagoda tournament, and so on until the ace pool is paid out at one tournament. The Ace Pool will not be transferred to the Euro Tour Pro Forester. A player who wants to participate in the Ace Pool must pay €1 before the start of the first round. If a player hits an ace but has not paid the ace pool before the start of the first round, they are not eligible for the prize.

CTP – Closest to the pin
On one hole, we will organize an additional competition for who throws the disc closest to the basket, and it will take place during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds. There will be a meter next to the basket, and a player whose disc comes to rest near the basket can measure the distance from the pole to the disc. The player whose disc, after the end of the second round of the competition, has the shortest distance from the basket wins the prize. For the result to be valid, the disc must be within 5m of the basket, and you need to send a photo from the distance shown on the meter to the official tournament WhatsApp group.

Overachiever
The award is given to the player who has played the tournament on average the most above their rating (according to current ratings on the PDGA website). All tournament participants with a PDGA number and active membership who have at least 20 played rounds in their rating are eligible for this competition.

Prizes and Tournament respect tombola
At the tournaments we organize, trophies and possible smaller prizes are awarded to the top three players in MPO, FPO, Red, and Green categories who pay the full registration fee, and the winner of the Purple category (who pays a reduced registration fee), while additionally rewarding all players who deserve it through the tournament rules via the tombola. The tombola takes place at the end of the tournament, after announcing the winners in all categories. The usual main prize in the tombola is a disc golf backpack. To claim a prize in the tombola, a player must:
1. Be present at the player meeting (when we read your name at the beginning of the meeting, you must be present)
2. Pay the tournament fee in advance or during the tournament (no later than the start of announcing the winners)
3. Play all tournament rounds
4. Register on time (mandatory check-in) if specified in the tournament schedule
5. Be present at the winner announcement If a player is drawn in the tombola and has not met all four criteria, they cannot claim the prize, and the next player is drawn. The same player cannot win a prize in the tombola at two consecutive tournaments.
