TBT 2024 #2 - Ringin' RakiChains

Ringin' RakiChains is a tournament that will be played on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Murska Sobota (Slovenia) as the second of three rounds of the Triple Bogey Tour 2024 at Park Rakičan. The competition will consist of three rounds of 13 holes each.

The tournament is organized by Lagoda Disc Golf with the assistance of the local organizer, Disc Golf Club Pomurje. This year's tournament will be the third edition of Ringin' RakiChains, which was first played in 2022 with the participation of 71 players from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, and Serbia. In the second tournament in 2023, 52 competitors participated.

All three rounds of the Triple Bogey Tour 2024 are played in PDGA color categories open to both genders: Purple (rating up to 800), Green (rating up to 850), Red (rating up to 900), and the Gold category (for all other players).
For more information about the tour and scoring for the overall standings, visit the Triple Bogey Tour website. The current standings table can also be downloaded in PDF format from this page.

A player who was eligible to participate in a certain category in the first round of the tour (e.g., someone with a rating of 846 sufficient for Green) can participate in that same category in all three rounds of the tour, even if their rating exceeds the category limit in the meantime.
Also, each player can play in a higher rating category if they choose to do so (e.g., someone with a rating of 730 can play Purple, but also any other category, whereas a player with a rating of 870 cannot play Purple or Green).
Players who are not PDGA members and do not have a rating can only play in the Purple category if they have not played PDGA tournaments before or if their average rating for the last 6 rounds played is not more than 800. If their rounds are worth more than 800, they can play in the Green, Red, or MPO/FPO category. A player who has no rating and whose last 6 rounds are worth more than 850 rating points cannot play in the Green category but can play in the Red or MPO/FPO category.

The tournament schedule will be available later.

Game
The competition will be conducted in the following format:
Round 1 - groups will be formed with mixed categories and strength groups determined by PDGA rating. We will try to ensure that players from the same clubs/countries are not placed in the same groups in the first round, so they can socialize with players they do not regularly see through the game.
Rounds 2 and 3 - groups formed by result, without mixing categories

Course
The tournament will be played on the course of the permanent disc golf terrain Park Rakičan Disc Golf with some additional baskets and specific changes.
The baskets to be used on all tracks are Prodigy T2.
The tees will mostly be made of artificial turf carpet, while a smaller number of tees may be marked only on the ground (details will be available later).
The course plan in PDF format will be available on this page in early April.

Ace Pool
All players who wish can pay €1 in cash, which will be placed in a special box. From previous Lagoda tournaments, the Ace Pool already contains €83 as of March 21st.
A player who scores an ace during the tournament becomes the winner of the entire Ace Pool prize fund. If two or more players hit an ace at the same tournament, they share the ace pool. If no player hits an ace, the ace pool is carried over to the next Lagoda tournament, and so on until the ace pool is awarded at a tournament. The ace pool will not be transferred to the Euro Tour Pro Forester.
A player who wants to participate in the Ace Pool must pay €1 before the start of the first round. If a player hits an ace but did not pay into the ace pool before the start of the first round, they are not eligible for the prize.

CTP – Closest to the pin
On one hole, we will organize an additional competition to determine who threw the disc closest to the basket, which will take place during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds. There will be a meter next to the basket, and the player whose disc comes to a stop closest to the basket can measure the distance from the pole to the disc. The player whose disc, after the end of the second round of competition, has the shortest distance from the basket wins the prize.
To be valid, the disc must be within 5m of the basket, and you need to send a photo from the meter distance shown to the official tournament WhatsApp group.

Overachiever
The award is given to the player who has played the tournament on average the most above their rating (according to current ratings on the PDGA website). All tournament participants who have a PDGA number and active membership and have at least 20 played rounds included in their rating are eligible for this competition.

Awards and Tournament respect tombola
At the tournaments we organize, trophies and possible smaller prizes are awarded to the top three players in the MPO, FPO, Red, and Green categories paying the full registration fee, and a prize is awarded to the winner of the Purple category (paying the reduced registration fee), while additionally rewarding through the tombola all players who have earned it by respecting the tournament rules. The tombola takes place at the end of the tournament, after announcing the winners in all categories. The usual main prize in the tombola is a disc golf backpack.

In order for a player to claim a prize in the tombola, they must:
1. Be present at the player meeting (when we read your name at the beginning of the meeting, you need to be present)
2. Pay the tournament registration fee in advance or during the tournament (no later than the start of the winner announcement)
3. Play all tournament rounds
4. Check in on time (mandatory check-in) if indicated in the tournament schedule
5. Be present at the winner announcement.

If a player is drawn in the tombola and has not fulfilled all four criteria, they cannot claim the prize, and the next player is drawn. The same player cannot win a tombola prize at two consecutive tournaments.
