Drava Forester 2026

Drava Forester is a three-day tournament that will be held from Friday, 30 October to Sunday, 1 November 2026 in Varaždin. This international disc golf tournament is organized by Lagoda Disc Golf and the travel agency Vall Tours with the support of the City of Varaždin.
The main partner of the tournament is the German disc golf clothing brand unicörn.
The tournament will be played over three days, with the competition taking place in three rounds of 18 holes.

This will be the 14th edition of the tournament, as Drava Forester has been held regularly since the first event in 2012. At the most recent 13th edition of Drava Forester in 2025, there were 61 competitors who came from Austria, Finland, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. For 2026, around eighty players from about ten countries are expected to participate.

Registration and entry fee

The competition will be held in the following divisions and under the following conditions of participation:

The number of participants is limited to 82.

The basic entry fee covers organization of the tournament, the fee to the Croatian Flying Disc Federation and prizes for the best players.

The entry fee does not need to be paid before 1 October 2026.

Exceptionally, if you do not pay the entry fee in advance, it will also be possible to pay in cash at the tournament itself.

Tournament package

Players who wish can, in addition to the basic entry fee, choose a tournament package in one of two options – a full package in the amount of 180 € or a package with a different scope.
Players do not have to choose a tournament package and can instead participate in the tournament by paying only the entry fee.

The basic BASIC package is 75€ and includes:
- entry fee for participation and tournament organization
- fee to the Croatian Flying Disc Federation
- tournament souvenir such as a T-shirt or disc with Drava Forester print (value 30+ €)
- team building programme (Friday evening)
- Lagoda Team Game (Friday and Saturday)
- Park it! contest (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
- 3 consecutive putts contest (Thursday – Sunday)
- King of the table contest
- evening programme on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
- dinner (pizza) on Saturday before the evening programme
- one non-transferable raffle ticket (Saturday, as part of the evening programme)
The full FULL package is 180€ and includes all contents of the Basic package plus:
- additional tournament souvenir (value 3+ €)
- 3× lunch on the course (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- 3× dinner (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
- maybe a few more sponsor surprises

Schedule

Drava Forester starts on Wednesday, 28 October with players’ gathering and a joint welcome dinner, and ends on Sunday, 1 November with the awards ceremony and an optional evening programme.

Players can take part in the side events of the tournament, as well as all accompanying persons who are part of Drava Forester.

Official accommodation

The official accommodation for the tournament in 2026 is at Hotel Park and at Pansion Maltar.

We suggest all participants stay at Hotel Park, where part of the side programme will be held and from where transfers to the course will be provided (if there is sufficient interest and need). For the purposes of the tournament, we have reserved all rooms in the hotel and, during the tournament, there will be no other guests except disc golfers (if tournament participants fill all 20 rooms).

All prices at Hotel Park are per person per night and include breakfast and tourist tax. There are 20 rooms at Hotel Park.

Play

The competition will be played in the following format:

Groups will be formed with mixed divisions and strength pools determined according to PDGA rating.

Players will be mixed together in groups regardless of whether they play the long or short course layout.

We will do our best not to put players from the same clubs/countries in the same groups in the first round, so that through play they can socialize with players they do not see regularly.

Course

The course consists of 18 holes and combines open areas along the Drava River with wooded sections.
The course is temporary and, from year to year, the layout varies slightly depending on developments in the forest (for example, whether a tree has fallen and changed the possible line of play, etc.).

All tees are prepared with artificial turf, and the baskets are new Disc Golf Park baskets (2022 model).

Other information

Communication with participants
For communication with participants, a WhatsApp group will be opened, which participants can join via a link that will be sent to them by e-mail.
Joining the WhatsApp group is not mandatory, but during the tournament all announcements (schedule changes, groups for rounds 1, 2 and 3, etc.) will be communicated exclusively through this group.
Through this group, participants can report if, for some reason, they are late for the players’ meeting, complete the mandatory check-in, report if they have lost or found something on the course, etc.

Weather
You can follow the weather forecast for Varaždin on the Yr.no website. In case of bad weather you can also follow the lightning radar or the radar display of precipitation.
Since part of the course is located in an old forest, in case of a forecast of strong wind (stronger than 10 m/s) there is a possibility that, for the safety of competitors, a modified layout will be played with holes only in the open area.

Parking
If you are arriving by car, you can park at the Varaždin Arena car park. Parking is free.

Toilets
Within the Arena there is a tournament centre and toilets at at least two locations.

Photos
All photos taken during the tournament will be added to a Google Photos album at the end of each day and you can download and use them for social media.

Side events

The usual side events of the tournament include joint gatherings, dinners, Lagoda Team Game, Park it! contest, 3-consecutive putting contest, evening programmes and other activities. More information about the side events will be available later.
