Format of Play
The competition will be played in the following format:
| Round | Group formation |
|---|---|
| 1 | Groups will be formed with mixed categories and strength groups determined by PDGA rating. We will try to avoid placing players from the same clubs / countries in the same groups in the first round, in order to encourage social interaction with players they do not usually meet. |
| 2 | Groups will be formed based on results, with mixed categories. In case of tied results after Round 1, players with a lower PDGA number will be ranked higher. |
| 3 | Groups will be formed based on results, without mixing categories. |
Course
The competition will be held at the Drava Forester course, where disc golf competitions have been held regularly since 2012. The course combines technical wooded holes that require precision and a variety of throwing techniques, as well as several open holes that allow players with greater throwing distance to gain an advantage. Major international events have also been played on this course, including the WFDF World Team Championship 2022 and Euro Tour tournaments, at which the world champion Paul McBeth also competed in 2023.
Video footage from these events is available on YouTube.
Hole lengths are adapted to players from Croatia and the region, with par 3 holes ranging approximately from 70 to 120 metres, making the course challenging yet fair for all categories.
The course will consist of 18 holes and will be set up on the grounds adjacent to the Arena Varaždin Sports Hall.
Temporary Disc Golf Park Target baskets will be used for the course setup.
Teeing areas on all holes will be surfaced with artificial turf.

Additional Information
Participant communication
A WhatsApp group will be opened for communication with participants, which they can join via a link sent by email.
Joining the WhatsApp group is not mandatory, but during the tournament all announcements (schedule changes, playing groups, etc.) will be communicated exclusively through this group.
Through this group, participants can notify the organisers if they are running late for the players’ meeting (so they do not have to come to the tournament office in person), report CTP competition results, or inform others if something has been lost or found on the course, etc.
Weather
You can follow the weather forecast for Varaždin on the Yr.no website. In case of bad weather, you may also monitor the lightning radar or the precipitation radar.
As the course is largely located in an old forest, in case of forecast strong winds (over 10 m/s), the competition may be postponed (or relocated to another venue) for the safety of the players.
Parking
A large free parking area is available next to Arena Varaždin (Google Maps location).
Restrooms
Restrooms can be used at the Time-out Bar (Arena, 1st floor).
Tournament center
For this event, we will NOT be able to use the usual VIP hall area (near the tennis courts), as it is occupied.
All tournament gatherings will take place outdoors or at the Time-out Bar within the Arena complex.
Photography
All photos taken during the tournament will be uploaded at the end of each day to a Google Photos album, where they can be downloaded and used for social media.

Ace Pool
All players who wish to participate may contribute €1 in cash, which will be placed into a dedicated collection box. Players wishing to participate in the Ace Pool must pay the €1 before the start of the first round. If a player scores an ace without having paid into the Ace Pool before the start of the first round, they are not eligible for the prize.
A player who scores an ace during the tournament wins the entire Ace Pool prize fund. If two or more players score an ace at the same tournament, the Ace Pool will be split between them.
If no player scores an ace, the Ace Pool carries over to the next Lagoda tournament up to a maximum of €100, and continues to roll over until it is won at a future event.
If the carried-over Ace Pool exceeds €100, any amount above €100 will be transferred into a fund for course maintenance and support of disc golf development.
This Ace Pool is collected at all Lagoda Disc Golf tournaments, and prior to the Cupid’s Forester tournament, the Ace Pool amount stands at €50.
Overachiever
This award is given to the player who, on average, performs the most above their rating (based on current PDGA ratings).
All tournament participants with a PDGA number and active membership are eligible, provided that their rating includes at least 20 recorded rounds.
Prizes and Tournament Respect Raffle
The raffle takes place at the end of the tournament, after the winners ceremony in all categories. The usual main raffle prize is a disc golf backpack.
