Black Cats + WGE 2026

Black Cats is a tournament that will take place in Varaždin on Saturday, May 23, 2026, and will be part of the PDGA Women Global Event. Participation in the Black Cats tournament is open primarily to women in all Pro and amateur divisions.
Additionally, in order to fill the tournament and make PDGA ratings as representative as possible, participation is also open to male players in one combined Gold division.

The purpose of the PDGA Women Global Event is to provide women of all ages and levels of disc golf experience with the opportunity to participate in competition and compete against disc golf players from around the world. During two connected weekends (April 16–17 and May 23–24), tournaments are played worldwide and all players are ranked globally according to their results. Therefore, even if a player at our tournament is the only competitor in her division, she will still be included in the worldwide ranking for that division and have the opportunity to win some valuable prizes for top placements.
We hope this tournament will inspire women to get involved, play, connect and exchange experiences with other women in our sport.

So far, the PDGA Women Global Event has been held 6 times, making this the 7th edition.

The tournament will be played on a specially prepared 9-hole course at the Drava Forester course area in Varaždin near Arena Varaždin sports hall. There will be two rounds, and in each round participants will play the same 9 holes twice.
The holes will be specially designed for female players and will range from 45 to 65 metres in length.

In previous years we played WGE tournaments at the Varaždin Vodovodna course where holes ranged from 45 to 70 m in length, which allowed our players to achieve excellent results in the global rankings at the 2021 Black Cats tournament – Kaja Gorički won the Girls Under 6 division, Ira Molnar Gorički placed 2nd in the FA40 division, Jelena Geček took 2nd place in the largest Novice division with more than 500 players, Ana Gorički finished 3rd in the Junior Under 18 division, and Maja Šimenc finished 4th in the Intermediate division. That WGE was sponsored by ZUCA and many other sponsors, and our players won valuable prizes – the most valuable prize, a ZUCA cart, was won by young Kaja, along with disc golf backpacks, shirts and other prizes.

In addition to professional women’s divisions, the following amateur divisions are also open (with descriptions from the PDGA website):
FA1 - Advanced Women – the highest amateur women’s division for players up to the age of 40 with a PDGA rating of 825 or higher.
FA2 - Intermediate Women – division for players with a PDGA rating below 825 who have developed basic disc throwing techniques, can throw between 35 and 60 m, make between 3 and 5 putts into the basket from 6 m, and can throw backhand with relative accuracy.
FA3 - Recreational Women – division for players with a PDGA rating below 775 who are still improving disc throwing and disc golf techniques.
FA4 - Novice Women – division for players with a PDGA rating below 725 (or without a PDGA rating) who are just learning disc golf techniques.
Amateur Master Women 40+ – division for players who turn 40 during 2026.
Divisions under the same conditions are also open for players turning 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 during 2026 (even if they turn that age on December 31, 2026).
Separate junior divisions are open for girls who will be under 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 (Tiny Tigers tournament) and 18 years of age (Black Cats tournament) during 2026. (Even if they turned 16 on January 2, 2026, they may still play FJ15).

The tournament will be played as a one-day event with two rounds of 18 holes and no final.
All participants in children’s divisions must be accompanied by an adult.
For girls’ divisions, only Round 1 counts for the WGE global ranking. According to agreement with registered participants (or their parents), divisions up to age 6 and 8 may play only one round.
For all other women’s divisions, both rounds count toward the WGE global ranking.
