Spa Hills 2026

Spa Hills is a two-day tournament that will take place during the weekend of July 25 and 26, 2026, in Toplice Sveti Martin, offering all participants the opportunity to combine competition on the course where the 2018 European Championship was played with a holiday stay at the Terme Sveti Martin resort. This international disc golf tournament is organized by Lagoda Disc Golf and the Vall Tours travel agency, with support from local partners such as the Terme Sveti Martin resort and the Međimurje County Tourist Board.

This will be the 12th edition of the tournament, as Spa Hills has been held regularly every year since the first tournament in 2015. At the latest 11th edition of Spa Hills in 2025, 69 competitors participated, arriving from Austria, Croatia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Serbia, while around seventy players from approximately ten countries are expected in 2026.

If you are coming to the tournament for the first time and would like to learn more about the destination and event from the perspective of a disc golf tourist, additional information can be found on our special page.

The official accommodation for the tournament is at the Terme Sveti Martin resort, in Hotel Terme and the apartment village located directly next to the disc golf course. In addition to the sporting part of the event, participants can enjoy thermal pools, wellness facilities and the beautiful surroundings of Međimurje.

The tournament will be played over two days, with the competition consisting of three rounds of 18 holes.
Through the first nine editions, the tournament was played on only one course layout with relatively long holes, meaning that players with shorter throwing distance (FPO division and lower-rated divisions) usually achieved results significantly above par, with very few birdie opportunities and long round durations.
At the 2024 tournament, we introduced two course layouts for the first time: a long layout for MPO and Red divisions, which we named the white layout, and a new shorter blue layout for the remaining divisions. This model of play will remain for the 2026 tournament as well.

The exact plan for participants playing in the Croatian Disc Golf League who want their points to count toward the overall standings will be determined later by league director Aki Vucković (It is necessary to determine how to evaluate results if some players from the same league play the long layout while others play the short layout. One option is that all male players who want league points must play MPO or Red division on the long layout, but this will be determined later.)

Format of Play

The competition will be played in the following format:

RoundGroup formation
1

Groups will be formed with mixed divisions and skill groups determined by PDGA rating, depending on the course layout they are playing – MPO and Red divisions will be mixed together, while all other divisions will also be mixed together in groups.

We will try not to place players from the same clubs / countries in the same groups during the first round, so that they can socialize and play with people they do not regularly see.

2 Groups formed by score, with mixed divisions depending on the course layout they are playing
3 Groups formed by score, without mixing divisions

Course

The 18-hole course is set up on a golf course and in the surrounding forests, combining shorter technical wooded holes with open fairways.
Temporary Disc Golf Park targets are used for play. We plan to mark 3m and 10m circles around each basket (except in case of bad weather in the days before the tournament).
All tee pads will be prepared with artificial turf carpeting.
There is a possibility that one hole (hole 2) may not be perfectly mowed because that part of the land is not owned by the resort (and this is how we have played for years), but all other holes should be in excellent condition.

We will prepare two course layouts: a long layout for MPO and Red divisions, and a shorter layout for all other divisions.
The final course plan will be available on this page before the start of the tournament. Currently, you can download the course map from the tournament played in 2025, and the plan is for the 2026 course to be identical to the 2025 course.
The final course plan will be determined approximately 10 days before the competition itself.

The white (long) course layout has so far been played at several tournaments, and the course records up to 2026 are 48 (-10) in the men's division, achieved by Stanislaus Amann (rating 1036) twice at the 2023 tournament, and 60 (+2) in the women's division, achieved by Andreja Bernjak (rating 919)  at the 2023 tournament.

The short (blue) course layout was played only in 2024 and  2025, and only by competitors in the FPO, Green and Purple divisions.
The course record for the short blue layout in the men's division is -7 (50, rating 950), achieved by Miloš Gavrilović in 2025, while the same rating but one throw worse score of -6 (51, rating 950) was achieved by Nino Krvavica in 2024.
In the women's division, the course record is -3 (54, rating 914), achieved twice by Barbara Poljšak at the 2024 tournament, while the second-best result is -2 (55, rating 889), achieved by Maja Šimenc at the 2025 tournament.

Other information

Communication with participants
A WhatsApp group will be opened for communication with participants, and players will be able to join it through a link sent by e-mail.
Joining the WhatsApp group is not mandatory, but during the tournament all announcements (schedule changes, groups for rounds 1, 2 and 3, etc.) will be communicated exclusively through the group.
Through this group participants can inform us if they are late for the players meeting for some reason, complete the mandatory Sunday check-in before round 3 (so they do not need to personally come to the Golf House), report CTP contest results, report lost or found items on the course, etc.

Weather
You can follow the weather forecast for Toplice Sveti Martin on the Yr.no website. In case of bad weather, you can also follow the lightning radar or the rain radar.
Since part of the course is located in an old forest, in case of forecasted strong wind (stronger than 10 m/s), there is a possibility that, for the safety of competitors, a modified course layout with holes only in open areas will be played.

Food

Tournament participants will have the option to pre-order lunch for Saturday. The exact list of meals and prices will be available later.

Parking
If you are arriving by car, you can park near the Golf House (Google Maps). Please keep in mind that the basket for hole 18 is nearby and there is a risk that players could hit vehicles parked directly next to the stairs leading to the Golf House.
The recommended parking area is the parking lot next to Hotel Terme, located 250m away (Google Maps).
Parking at both locations is free.

Toilets
There is a toilet inside the Golf House. Additionally, participants may also use the toilet in the hotel building (side entrance from the forest / hole 1 side).

Photos
All photos taken during the tournament will be uploaded to a Google Photos Album at the end of each day, and you are welcome to download and use them for social media.
When posting on Instagram, please use #spahills #discgolfsvetimartin #toplicesvetimartin #eventbylagoda @lagoda_disc_golf @visitmedimurje whenever possible.

Side events

Ace Pool
All players who wish to participate may pay 1€ in cash into a special box. A player who wishes to participate in the Ace Pool must pay the 1€ before the start of the first round. If a player hits an ace but did not pay into the Ace Pool before the first round, they are not eligible for the prize.

A player who hits an ace during the tournament wins the entire Ace Pool prize fund. If two or more players hit an ace at the same tournament, they split the Ace Pool.

If no player hits an ace, the Ace Pool carries over to the next Lagoda tournament up to a maximum of 100€, and continues carrying over until the Ace Pool is paid out at one tournament.
If the carried-over Ace Pool exceeds 100€, all funds above 100€ are transferred from the Ace Pool into a fund for disc golf course development and support for disc golf growth.

This box is filled at all tournaments organized by Lagoda Disc Golf, and the current amount will be announced before the tournament itself.

Closest to the Pin
The CTP contest is played throughout all three tournament rounds on hole number 9.
One player who has the best overall result after all three rounds wins the CTP prize.

Park it! contest
The CTP contest also serves as qualification for the Park it! contest final – in each round, the three players with the best results qualify for the Park it! final.
A total of 9 players will qualify for the final.
If a player already qualifies in one round, they cannot qualify again in later rounds.

The Park it! contest final takes place on Sunday after round 3, when all 9 players throw three discs each toward the target – the throws are made from the ground floor of the Golf House toward the course, from a distance of approximately 50 meters.

The disc closest to the target receives 10 points, the second closest 9 points, the third closest 8 points, and so on down to the 10th closest disc, which receives 1 point.
Three throwing series will be played for all 9 players, and the player with the highest total score wins the Park it! contest.
