The Cupid's Forester tournament was held on February 14 and 15, 2026 in Varaždin as the 1st round of the Croatian Disc Golf League in the 2026 season, and it was run by Disc Golf Club Lagoda, the company Lagoda j.d.o.o., and the Croatian Flying Disc Federation.
This was the first edition of the tournament, with 44 players participating, arriving from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Serbia.
Participants who secured the early bird entry fee received tournament souvenirs such as T-shirts, neck warmers, or fleece gloves with the tournament logo.
The tournament was played over two days with three rounds of 18 holes, and the playing conditions were ideal during the two Saturday rounds - temperatures were up to 10°C and there was no wind. Unfortunately for the participants, the weather deteriorated significantly overnight into Sunday, so the third round was played with wind of around 9 m/s, which affected both the game and the temperature, with temperatures around 2°C.

In the open women’s FPO division, with 8 players competing, the win was claimed by Ira Molnar Gorički (FDK Zagreb) with a score of +27. Second place went to Danica Pajtak (DGK Varaždin) with +33, and third place to Tina Šimenc (DGK Lagoda, Varaždin) with +40.

Ace Pool
25 people contributed to the ace pool at the tournament, and since there was €50 in the pot from previous tournaments, the total ace pool amounted to €75. An incredible three aces were hit during the event — in round 1, Kristijan Babić hit an ace on hole 3. On the same hole, Tomislav Frković also aced in round 2, and in round 3 Gerald Wölbl hit an ace on hole 17.
Babić and Wölbl had paid into the ace pool, so they split the €75.
Overachiever
The award is given to the player who played the tournament, on average, the most above their rating (based on current ratings on the PDGA website).
All tournament participants with a PDGA number and active membership are included, provided their rating contains at least 20 recorded rounds.
Third place in this competition was won by Ivan Klanjčić, who played the tournament at +34 above his personal rating. Second place went to Tin Kruhak at +41, while Mladen Šop won with +54 above his own PDGA rating.
Raffle
All participants who met the raffle requirements took part in a draw in which several valuable prizes were awarded.
The raffle prize winners were Tomislav Gorički, Tomislav Kačavenda, Andreas Trondl, and Bato Sudžuković.
2nd Cupid's Forester 2027
The plan is for this tournament to remain a tradition and to be played around Valentine’s Day.
