Format of Play

The competition will be played in the following formats:

RoundFormat of Play
1

Modified Alternate Throw – Best Tee Shot & Max 2 Connected

On each tee, both members of the doubles team throw, after which they choose which tee shot they will continue the hole from. After the selection, alternate mode continues (if Player A’s tee shot is chosen, the next throw is taken by Player B).

Additional condition: the same player’s tee shot may be used on a maximum of 2 consecutive holes. If Player A’s tee shots are used on holes 1 and 2, then on hole 3 only Player B throws from the tee.

2

Modified Alternate Throw – Shared Tees

On each tee, only one player throws, with the condition that each player must throw from the tee on 9 holes. During the round, players decide who throws on which hole, until one player “uses up” their 9 tee throws.

After each tee shot, alternate mode continues (if the tee shot was thrown by Player A, the next throw is taken by Player B, etc.).

3

Best Score Alternate Throw

Both players throw from the tee, creating two parallel alternate-throw sequences. Player A’s drive is continued by Player B, and Player B’s drive is continued by Player A, and so on.

The hole is completed when the better of the two sequences is finished, and that result is recorded as the doubles team score for that hole (e.g., if one sequence is completed in 2 throws, the other is no longer played).

Final

Modified Alternate Throw – Shared Tees

On each tee, only one player throws, with the condition that one player must throw from the tee on 5 holes and the other on 4 holes. During the round, players decide who throws on which hole until one player “uses up” their 5 (or 4) tee throws.

After each tee shot, alternate mode continues (if the tee shot was thrown by Player A, the next throw is taken by Player B, etc.).

The competition will be conducted in a format where groups are formed exclusively from doubles within the same category, from the first round until the end of the championship.
Mixing of categories will be avoided as much as possible, except in cases where it cannot be avoided (e.g. a category with only 1 or 2 doubles, etc.).

The final round will be played by the 4 highest-ranked doubles after the third round, and only in the MPO and FPO categories.
The final round is played over 9 holes. All four doubles will play in one group.

The Gold and White categories will not play the final round.

Course

The 18-hole course is set on a golf course and in the surrounding woods, combining shorter, technical wooded holes with open holes.
Temporarily installed Disc Golf Park targets will be used for play.
All tee pads will be prepared with artificial turf.
There is a possibility that one hole (hole 2) may not be perfectly mowed, as that part of the land is not owned by the resort (and this is how we have been playing for years), but all other holes should be in excellent condition.

Two course layouts will be set: the long orange layout for MPO and Gold categories, and the shorter blue layout for FPO and White categories.

Disc golf

The orange (long) layout has previously been played at several individual tournaments. The current course records are 48 (-10) in the men’s division, achieved by Stanislaus Amann (rating 1036) twice at the 2023 tournament, and 60 (+2) in the women’s division, achieved by Andreja Bernjak (rating 919) at the 2023 tournament.
The course record for the short (blue) layout is -6 (51, rating 950) in the men’s division, achieved by Nino Krvavica, and -3 (54, rating 914) in the women’s division, achieved by Barbara Poljšak. This layout was played at Spa Hills 2024 and 2025.

Other Information

Communication with participants
A WhatsApp group will be created for communication with participants, which they can join via a link that will be sent to them by email.
Joining the WhatsApp group is not mandatory, but during the tournament all announcements (schedule changes, groups for each round, etc.) will be communicated exclusively through that group.
Through this group, participants can notify if they are running late to the players meeting for any reason, complete the mandatory check-in on Sunday before Round 3 (so they don’t have to come in person to the Golf House), report if they lost or found something on the course, etc.

Weather
You can follow the weather forecast for Toplice Sveti Martin on the Yr.no page. In case of bad weather, you can also monitor the lightning radar or the precipitation radar.
Since part of the course is in an old forest, if strong wind is forecast (stronger than 10 m/s), there is a possibility that, for the safety of competitors, a modified course layout will be played with holes only in the open area.

Food

Tournament participants will be offered the option to pre-order lunch for Saturday. The exact menu and prices will be available later.

Parking
If you arrive by car, you can park near the Golf House (Google Maps). Please note that basket 18 is nearby and there is a risk that players may hit vehicles parked right next to the stairs leading to the Golf House.
The recommended parking is the parking area by Hotel Terme, 250m away (Google Maps).
Parking at both locations is free of charge.

Toilets
There is a toilet in the Golf House. In addition, the toilet in the hotel can also be used (side entrance on the forest / hole 1 side).

Photos
All photos we take at the tournament will be added to a Google Photos Album at the end of each day, and you can download and use them for social media.

Side Events

Ace Pool
All players who wish may pay €1 in cash, which is placed into a separate cash box. A player who wishes to participate in the Ace Pool must pay €1 before the start of Round 1. If a player hits an ace but did not pay into the Ace Pool before the start of Round 1, they are not eligible for the prize.

A player who hits an ace during the tournament becomes the winner of the entire Ace Pool prize fund. If two or more players hit an ace at the same tournament, they share the Ace Pool.

If no player hits an ace, the Ace Pool carries over to the next Lagoda tournament, up to a maximum of €100, and so on until it is won at a tournament.
If the carried-over Ace Pool exceeds €100, the amount above €100 is removed from the Ace Pool and allocated to a fund for course improvements and support for disc golf development.

This cash box is used at all tournaments organized by Lagoda Disc Golf, and the current amount will be announced prior to the tournament.
