Welcome to the page of the 2020 Eurotour #1 event by Lagoda Disc Golf!
Our team has organized 54 international disc golf tournaments from 2012 till the end of 2019, with more than 500 different players of 31 nations participating. Out of these we’d like to put special emphasis on our flagship event Drava Forester that has been held 8 times, summer holiday 9-day 3-event Stray Disc Tour and the 2018 European Championships but we are also very happy and excited about the upcoming WFDF’s World Team Disc Golf Championships that will be held in Varaždin in 2021.
With everything organized so far, it is our special honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to organize the first of the six tournaments of our continent's new elite disc golf tour and we look forward to welcoming players from all over Europe (and hopefully other continents) in Varaždin, the city where we live and work. Organization of the tournament is supported by the City of Varaždin, the Varaždin City Tourist Board and the Varaždin County Tourist Board.
The city of Varazdin is the center of one of 21 Croatian counties and a place of rich history that is today populated by 47.000 inhabitants. In the middle of the 18th century the city was the administrative center of Croatia for 21 years, but after the great fire in 1776, the national government was returned to Zagreb. At the following years the city was rebuilt in Baroque and Rocco style, and today it represents the best preserved urban complex of continental Croatia, and the city center is a large pedestrian zone full of historic houses, buildings and palaces. The Spring Forester will bring together up to 120 players from 10-15 countries, and will be played through three days, starting on Friday April 10th and lasting until Sunday 12th, in a format of a single 18-hole round per day. All players play three rounds, with a delayed start and a 5, 7 or 10 minute interval between groups (depending on the number of groups, etc.). Depending on the total number of entries and the duration of each round, it is possible that there will also be a 6-hole final round for the top 5 FPO and MPO division (the same as it is usually played at the Drava Forester tournament), but a decision on this will be made in March. As the date of the event overlaps with the traditional Easter celebration, we will also offer our participants the usual Easter specialties, as well as participating in the Easter bonfire.
The beginning of April in Croatia is commonly “one foot in Spring”, so you can expect temperatures around 15 ° C, slightly leafed trees, and certainly some plants will show their first flowers.
The competitions will take place on a temporary course set in the forest by the Arena Varaždin sports hall and on the open Drava River embankment, which we are sure will afford the players the pleasure of the game, but also a challenge in solving the problems that the technically demanding holes will set before them. Some of the 18 holes will feature a longer white and slightly shorter yellow tee, with only the MPO and MP40 categories playing white tee, and all other categories yellow tee. Registrations for the competition are open since 30.12.2019. through the Disc golf scene site, and the categories open to register are FPO, FP40, MPO, MP40 and MP50.
If there are open spots available, in the fourth stage o registrations from February 10th, amateur and possibly junior categories will be opened, but the decision on that will be made after February 1st depending on the number of player registrations in pro categories.
The registration fee for the pro categories is € 120, of which approximately € 95 goes to the prize pool. Payment of cash prizes will be done for 25% of the best placed participants in each category.

The course will be ready to play no later than Sunday April 5th and players are welcome to jon us in Varaždin as of April 4th although official program of the tournament will start on Thursday 9th with a welcome dinner at 7pm and a Players meeting at 8pm. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday competitions will be held with one round of play per day, while in the afternoon and evening; participants will be offered side events such as a group dinner, social games, etc. The official tournament will end on Sunday 12th no later than 6pm, and all players who stay in the hotel until Monday will have an option to join evening get-together after the tournament.

If you are arriving to the tournament by your own vehicle, you can easily drive all the way to the Turist Hotel, where there is free parking for guests; or to the course at the Arena Varaždin, where there is a large number of free parking spaces.
If you are coming by public transport to Varaždin then you can use the Taxi service and you will pay around 25-30 kn (3.5-4.5 €) for the ride inside the city.
All players arriving on an airplane who wish to arrange airport shuttle can contact us to advise them on the choice of airport and time of arrival / departure time in order to group up more people to the same transfer (eg by van or mini bus) so that the transfer price per person will be as low as possible.
Players arriving without their own vehicles will also be offered the option of transfers from the hotel to the course and back, and for those who choose not to there is always a Taxi service available at the prices stated above.

The official accommodation of the tournament is at the Hotel Turist, which will host a Players meeting and some of the side events of the tournament. Although it is not obligatory for the players to be accommodated in the Hotel Turist, it is recommended because the fact that everyone stays at the same place is often highlighted as a great advantage of tournaments we have organized so far (such as Drava Forester, Spa Hills or European Championship 2018) where players have an opportunity to socialize after the rounds and during the evening. The tournament center, used only by Spring Forester guests, at the hotel is located on floor -1 and consists of a large hall for socializing and games, and another area with bar and a dance floor, and all guests of the hotel can, literally in slippers, from their room descend by elevator to this area.
