How to play disc golf?

Disc golf is a sport similar to the traditional ball golf with the difference that instead using a club (bat) to hit a ball, players throw special flying disc (“Frisbee”) and try to hit the disc golf basket. The basic equipment needed to play is plastic or rubber disc, which are produced in different weights and with different flight characteristics. Rookie player, for recreational play, needs only two basic discs that can be purchased in Croatia at a price ranging from 65kn (~9€) to 130kn (~17€).

It is easy to start playing disc golf, but to perfect the game it needs a lot of practice and patience.

Common disc golf course consists of 18 holes, and the sport is usually played in groups of 4 to 6 players. To make it through the course it takes about 2 to 3 hours. On a hole, all players start with the same starting position (tee), and the game continues for each player at the spot where his disc come to rest. The aim of the game is to place your disc in the basket wit as least throws as possible. The best player is the one who after played course has a lowest total throws.
